Some days ago Apple released iTunes 9.1.
This version dealt with a security issue related to MP4 files, although Apple will not disclose what they did.
This patch caused, in some cases, reeplay.it’s playlist’s RSS to stop working when syncing to iTunes 9.1.
We have been notified of the issue by some users, were able to replicate the problem, diagnose it and tried to find a workaround, which we did, tested and deployed yesterday morning.
We have been reported the issue is no longer present.
A new reeplay release has been published a few days ago and we’re here to tell you about the most cool features we have implemented.
Thanks to numerous minor updates or new tools, the reeplay using experience is now more satisfactory and powerful.

“What’s the point?” - you could ask.
First of all, now you can add videos directly from your dashboard (the homepage of your account on reeplay) thanks to an “add by link” box.
Going to “Your account” section, you have also the chance to have a secret mail address useful for adding videos to reeplay directly by mail.
Another new “Your account” section allows you to publish a public rss feed with all the videos you have decided to suggest to your contacts. Something like “my public best of”.
If you are a developer, you will be excited for our new API’s, which allow capturing and bookmarking by 3rd party clients. Contact us if you want to find out more about that.
But one of the things we’re more proud of is the new High-Quality playback support for iPhone devices!
These are the main updates, but we have also added support for downloadhelper plugin, implemented numerous user interface improvements and improved the site performance.
Let us know how do you feel with the new reeplay. Enjoy!

The ISP where we host our DB is going to migrate from one building in the campus to another building. We can therefore face service disruption in a time window from Nov 27th at 21.00 GMT until Nov 28th noon. (it’ll be shorter than that, but that’s the time window). |
Reeplay’s developers have just released a new version of his XBMC plugin.
The file is available for download for everybody here.
Enjoy your videos!
After a few weeks of strategic thinking and a few months of development, a new Reeplay version is online.
Our developers has focused both on changing the website interface and the way we share videos.
The result is - first of all - a brand new high quality playback. Thanks to a few tweaks, we have simplified the user interface.
Moreover, every user has now a public page (reeplay.it/users/<username>).
From the point of view of the new structure of sharing, now suggestions are a stream where you must pick (yoink) the video you prefer.
Also the payment feature for the Pro service has been implemented.
A few changes (like the yoink stuff) will accommodate other forthcoming features.
That means that - as you can see - a lot has been done and a lot will soon been implemented.
Enjoy your Reeplay account and let us have your feedbacks!

The interview by Michele Ficara for Assodigitale to Stefano is in italian and - alas - there’s no translations available, but it’s basically about what reeplay is (which, if you’re reading this, you probably know already).
Best part, it shows how it works on a TV set, which some of you probably don’t know about (my guess is that still many of you haven’t still tried the TV set / console experience).
It’s cool, have a look:
A lot of reeplay.it fans are asking about the long-waited dedicated set top box, so this ad preview should really arouse many reeplayers’ curiosity: Blobbox is a HD digital media player and recorder specifically designed to work with Reeplay.it as well as Bittorrent and YouTube.Full HD, HDMI, digital terrestrial, Divx, all the full monty. And the box will auto-update as new features will be released.
Yes, you definitely want it. We sure do.
BTW, should you decide you want it, if you buy it from the link above, we’ll earn a tiny commission…
As we were saying in a previous post, all reeplayed content can be viewed on several media and media center platforms, including the appreciated XBMC (XBox Media Center).
In order to access one’s Reeplay library on XBMC a plugin has to be installed. You can find the plugin on this website, and you can follow these instructions to install it (thanks and kudos to XBMCZone for organizing the information for us).
If you’re using the plugin on Apple TV, keep in mind that in order to input your login credentials you have to select the plugin from the Video/Plugin menu (not launching it, just hover on it with your cursor) and keep the “Menu” button of the remote control pressed for a couple of seconds, in order to evoke the contextual menu.
Also, if you hover on a playlist (on all platforms) and evoke the contextual menu, by clicking the third menu item (Play) all the playlist contents will be played subsequently, so you now have a continuously streaming playlist. It’s your personal TV channel
A problem has be reported by a reeplayer named Andrew about syncing up the reeplay library to his Zune. He found the solution by him, self and we’re posting it here in case someone alsse has the same problem.
Problem: synch with Zune doesn’t work by click-and-drag, and it doesn’t work by manually entering in the URL where it says add podcast in the Zune software.
Solution by Andrew: go to whichever playlist you would like to have on the device and click the RSS button. When the screen loads it asks which application you would like to use to subscribe to this podcast. Instead of using this feature, I copied the URL at the top, which ends in .rss, and pasted in into the window that appeared after I pressed the “add a podcast” button. Press Subscribe. It will then ask for the username and password for reeplay.it. I think it only asks for this the first time.
